About Us
Mrs. Jones just completed her fourteenth year of teaching and her tenth year as Director of Bands at Colleyville Middle School. Prior to her current role, she was the Assistant Band Director at Colleyville Middle for four years. Mrs. Jones graduated from Texas Christian University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. While at TCU, she studied clarinet with Gary Whitman and was a member of the TCU Wind Symphony under the direction of Bobby Francis. She continues to be a part of the TCU Band Camp faculty each summer. In May of 2022, Lauren received her Master of Music Education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.
Mrs. Jones’ responsibilities at CMS include being the primary director of the Honors Band as well as assisting the Symphonic and Concert Bands. She also teaches sixth grade beginning flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, and bassoon classes. Both the Symphonic and Honors Bands at Colleyville Middle have consistently received first-division ratings at the Texas UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest as well as first-division ratings at band festivals and competitions throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Since 2017, the CMS Honors Band has been selected as a Class A National and Commended Winner in the Mark of Excellence National Wind Band Honors Project. The CMS Honors Band was also selected as a National Winner in the Medal of Distinction Concert Division 2022-2024. In 2018, the CMS Honors Band was selected to perform at the 72nd Annual Midwest Clinic. In 2019 and 2022, the CMS Honors Band was named the TMEA CC Honor Band Runner Up. Most recently, the CMS Honors Band placed 4th as a TMEA CC Honor Band Finalist in 2024.
Mrs. Jones is professionally affiliated with Texas Music Educators Association and Texas Bandmasters Association. She has served as the Region 24 and Region 31 Middle School Band Division Treasurer and the Vice Chair for the Middle School Band Division of Region 31. She was recently inducted into Phi Beta Mu, the International Bandmasters Fraternity and is a member of TMAA. Mrs. Jones fell in love with band in middle school and strives to inspire the same passion in her students that she found at their same age. She resides with her husband in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and is lucky to be surrounded by a wonderful support system of friends and family.

Mr. Pesina serves as the Assistant Director of Bands at Colleyville Middle School. His responsibilities include teaching beginning brass classes, conducting the Symphonic Band, and assisting with the Honors and Concert Bands. He is excited to begin his first year with the Colleyville Middle School Band program in 2026.
Mr. Pesina graduated magna cum laude from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree. While at TCU, he studied euphonium under Dr. Clay Garrett and performed with the TCU Wind Symphony under the direction of Bobby Francis. He was also an active member of the Horned Frog Marching Band. Mr. Pesina completed his student teaching during the Fall of 2025 at L.D. Bell High School and Bedford Junior High School under the supervision of Suzanne Dell and Kristin Johnson. He also taught low brass private lessons around the metroplex following his graduation.
In 2022, 2023, and 2025, Mr. Pesina performed with the Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps, serving as a section leader during his age-out year. As a member of two DCI World Championship-winning corps, he contributed to ensembles that earned caption awards for Outstanding Brass Performance, Visual Performance, and General Effect.
Currently residing in Carrollton, Mr. Pesina remains an active euphonium performer throughout the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, playing and following sports, and exploring a wide variety of musical genres.
